Compulsory Disclosure Laws for Queensland property

15 Aug 2025

The new Queensland Property Law Act 2023 introduces a compulsory seller disclosure regime for Queensland property, necessitating sellers to provide full disclosure and supporting documents to buyers before a Contract of Sale is signed.

If the disclosure is not conducted in accordance with the new laws, you face the real possibility of the buyer terminating the Contract any time up until settlement.

This regime, effective 1 August 2025, aims to enhance transparency and protect buyers by ensuring they have access to key information about a property before committing to a purchase, and the sellers by reducing disputes and legal risks later.
