The law regulating powers of attorney in Australia is state based.
Each Australian State and Territory requires a different form of document.
In New South Wales (NSW) powers of attorney are regulated by the Powers of Attorney Act 2003 (NSW) and in Queensland (Qld) powers of attorney are regulated by the Powers of Attorney Act 1998 (Qld).
If you own property in more than one State or Territory of Australia or regularly spend time in more than one State or Territory of Australia you may wish to seek legal advice.
At Eden Lawyers we can help with Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland.
Many of our clients regularly reside interstate or have property interstate.
